| _ | O'Reilly SUPR Late Model 2002 Schedule Released! Baton Rouge, Louisiana (January 25, 2002) - The O’Reilly SUPR Late Model Series has announced it’s 2002 schedule today, a schedule that will see the series visit 15 tracks over a 36-race schedule. The season will kick off with the running of the 3rd Annual Mardi Gras Nationals on February 22-23. The Mardi Gras Nationals, this year a two-day program with two separate features on Friday and Saturday night, will be hosted by Pike County Speedway. The O’Reilly SUPR Late Models will visit 3 new Texas tracks in the 2002 season with visits to Kennedale Speedway on June 28th, Texas Motor Speedway on July 27th and Houston Raceway Park on September 7th. The Texas Motor Speedway and Houston Raceway Park dates will be the sites of the 3rd Annual O’Reilly NCRA/SUPR Challenge. In addition to the O’Reilly NCRA/SUPR Challenge, the SUPR Late Models will also participate in the 2nd Annual O’Reilly MLRA/SUPR Challenge with three Arkansas dates slated. The O’Reilly MLRA/SUPR Challenge begins on June 7th at North Central Arkansas Speedway and resumes once again at North Central on August 23rd before concluding at I-30 Speedway on August 24th. Champion Park Speedway is another new addition to the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models schedule for 2002 with 2 events scheduled for May 26th and July 20th while Memphis Motorsports Park returns to the fold for the first time since 1998 with a Friday night show on April 12th. Following the Mardi Gras Nationals, the O’Reilly SUPR Late Model Series will get into full swing with a March 23rd event at Lone Star Speedway followed by a March 29th visit to Baton Rouge Raceway and a March 30th visit to Boothill Speedway. April 13th will see the Late Models visit I-30 Speedway for the first of 3 visits. April 20th will mark the beginning of the 2002 Magnolia State Championship Series at Pike County Speedway. The series will continue on June 15th before concluding on August 10th. The Magnolia State Champion will be guaranteed a starting spot in the season ending Jambalaya 100, now in its 6th running. Following a brief layoff, the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models will swing back into action on May 18th at Lone Star Speedway before kicking off its annual three-day Memorial Day weekend romp through Louisiana with visits to Sabine Speedway on May 24th, Boothill Speedway on the 25th and the aforementioned Champion Park date on the 26th. June will be one of the busiest months of the season for the Late Models as the head to Southwest Arkansas Speedway on the 1st before heading to North Central Speedway on the 7th and I-30 Speedway on the 8th. Following the June 15th show at Pike County, Thunder Valley Speedway will host the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models on the 22nd before the cars head to Kennedale Speedway on the 29th. July 4th will see the Late Models celebrating Independence Day at Devil’s Bowl Speedway before heading to Boothill Speedway on the 5th and Sabine Speedway on the 6th. Champion Park will play host to the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models on the 20th before they head off to Texas Motor Speedway for the first leg of the O’Reilly NCRA/SUPR Challenge. August 2nd and 3rd will see Lone Star Speedway hosting the 11th Annual Armadillo Nationals before the tour heads back down to the gulf coast region for the final leg of the Magnolia State Championship Series at Pike County Speedway on August 10th and a visit to the home of the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models, Baton Rouge Raceway on August 17th. The O’Reilly MLRA/SUPR Challenge will wrap up with a visit to North Central Arkansas Speedway on the 23rd and I-30 Speedway on the 24th. Labor Day weekend will include a final visit to Sabine Speedway on August 30th and Boothill Speedway on the 31st. The final leg of the O’Reilly NCRA/SUPR Challenge will be held at Houston Raceway Park on September 7th with the SUPR Late Models visiting Thunder Valley Speedway on September 14th before returning to Baton Rouge Raceway on October 18-19 for the O’Reilly Auto Parts/Budweiser Louisiana State Championships. This year’s format will include two separate features on Friday and Saturday nights. The season will conclude with the 6th Annual Jambalaya 100 at Pike County Speedway on November 8-9 and the 2002 O’Reilly SUPR Late Model Champion will be honored at the annual banquet on November 23rd.
