Jackson, Mississippi (May 10, 2003) – Kelly Angelette borrowed a car from Butch David and used that same car to power by David on lap 17 to take the O’Reilly SUPR Sprint Car feature during the Ival Cooper Memorial race at Jackson Motor Speedway. Angelette was at the wheel of David’s new sprint car, a car that has seen little action as David has favored last year’s championship winning car. Angelette, from Thibodaux, Louisiana recorded the second O’Reilly SUPR Sprint Car feature of his career in just his first SUPR start of the season. Angelette started 4th and moved up to challenge for the lead early before seizing the point on lap 17. Angelette then had to hold off Mike Herrington to take the win. Darrell Hyde was the Top Qualifier and started on the pole but it was outside pole sitter Harold Henderson who would lead the first lap. Henderson’s lead would be short as Butch David snagged the point on lap 2 and held the position until Angelette moved by on lap 17. David would slip to third at the finish while early leader Harold Henderson was the first to retire. Making his first-ever O’Reilly SUPR Sprint Car start was Michael Dupuy. Dupuy steadily worked his way forward to finish 4th ahead of Terry Vidrine. Shane Morgan, Tommy Hall, David Bryant, Wesley Young and Darrell Hyde rounded out the top 10. 18 O’Reilly SUPR Sprint Cars were on hand with Darrell Hyde, Butch David and Harold Henderson taking the heat race victories. Glynn LeBlanc suffered the misfortune of rolling his sprinter as Bobby Ingram and Mark Roth tangled while battling for position as the white flag was being unfurled and LeBlanc found his path blocked. Fortunately LeBlanc was uninjured in the flip. Official Results: 1. Kelly Angelette 2. Michael Herrington 3. Butch David 4. Michael Dupuy 5. Terry Vidrine 6. Shane Morgan 7. Tommy Hall 8.
