Doug Ingalls keeps winning at Champion Park SUPR go!

Doyline , Louisiana ( September 5, 2004 ) – Doug Ingalls staked his claim to another O’Reilly SUPR Late Model victory at Champion Park Speedway.  Ingalls made it two out of three victories this season at Champion Park and he did it in dominating fashion, starting on the pole and leading every lap to take the win, the 41st O’Reilly SUPR victory of his career.

Ingalls earned the B&K Underground Top Qualifier award after he started sixth in the second heat and finished second to fellow front row starter, Donald Watson.  Ingalls survived the early jockeying for position that occurred on the tacky racing surface and by lap six the top three cars at the checkers had looked into position with Scott Slay moving up to second from the seventh starting position and Rob Litton followed him from eight to third.

But while the top three locked in early, the battle rage behind as David Ashley was on a charge from 19th and Kenny Merchant was charging from even further back as he struggled in his heat and last chance races and took a provisional starting spot (21st).Ashley would climb as high as 6th on lap eight when he suffered a minor carburetor fire and he was finished for the night inside of ten laps.  For Merchant, he kept charging and out-dueled Dwight Falcon, himself charging up from 16th, in a stirring mid-race battle that ended when Merchant slid past Falcon on lap 40.  Falcon was already hard on the throttle and made contact with Merchant’s rear and the damage ended another solid Champion Park charge by Falcon, who has excited the fans with his all out driving style.

31 O’Reilly SUPR Late Models were on hand.  Jeff Chanler, Donald Watson, Chris Wall and Jim Bryant topped the heat races with Michael Robertson and Jason Ingalls topping the last chance races.  Kenny Merchant earned the Creel Brothers Hard Charger award for passing the most cars in the feature.
