Mike Bowers scores a TEN at I-30 Speedway
Little Rock, Arkansas (September 18, 2004) - Mike Bowers started on the pole and held off the competition to take his 4th career O'Reilly SUPR victory at I-30 Speedway. Bowers earned the B& K Underground Top Qualifier as he topped the first heat race. And he was happy to have the chance to start up front, adding, "it probably can't go any better than it did tonight." Bowers was quick to not that his car worked great and "we got some lucky breaks in with lapped traffic."
Bowers, who scored his first SUPR victory at I-30 Speedway back in 1992, return to the SUPR victory lane for the first time since his big win at the Armadillo Nationals in 2001.
Driving
the TEN car of David Yarbrough, Bowers ran the bottom groove and held off
the challenge of Rob Litton throughout the race. And while the front
duo battle for position, a trio of drivers were storming the high side at
I-30 Speedway to the front led by Jon Mitchell, who finished third after
starting 11th. Lee Davis, who started 12th finished fourth while Ray
Moore, who finished sixth after starting 10th. Jay Blair, who raced with
Bowers and Litton early held on to finish fifth. Allen Tippen earned the
Creel Brothers Hard Charger award after starting 22nd and racing all the
way up to seventh. Mark Andrews, Michael Robertson and Bubba Mullins
rounded out the top 10. 26

victory.
