Driving the TEN car of David Yarbrough, Bowers ran the bottom groove and held off the challenge of Rob Litton throughout the race.  And while the front duo battle for position, a trio of drivers were storming the high side at I-30 Speedway to the front led by Jon Mitchell, who finished third after starting 11th.  Lee Davis, who started 12th finished fourth while Ray Moore, who finished sixth after starting 10th. Jay Blair, who raced with Bowers and Litton early held on to finish fifth. Allen Tippen earned the Creel Brothers Hard Charger award after starting 22nd and racing all the way up to seventh. Mark Andrews, Michael Robertson and Bubba Mullins rounded out the top 10.

The race was slowed by just three cautions, the first for Ronny Adams who slowed with front end damage after contact on lap 2, the second was for debris on the track and the final waved when Terry Henson slowed on the backstretch.
