Ken Schrader to compete at Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship!

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (February 21, 2005) –  The Daytona 500 is over, and NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers are moving on to California this week.  After that, there is a week off on the schedule.  Most drivers will use that break for some rest and relaxation.  But not Ken Schrader.  He is already focusing on the clay surface of the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track where he will compete March 4-5 in the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship.

“We are thrilled to have Ken in the field for this great event at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track,“ said speedway president Eddie Gossage.  “He has driven and won in so many different kinds of race cars.  Our fans are in for quite a treat seeing Ken compete at the Dirt Track.”

Pro-Cuts will sponsor the dirt late model car driven by Schrader.  The O’Reilly SUPR Late Model Series and modified stock cars from throughout the region will participate in the two-night program.

Schrader won the 1982 USAC Silver Crown title in addition to the 1983 USAC Sprint Car championship.  He has won four USAC sprint races, six in the USAC Silver Crown division and 21 in USAC Midgets and won 24 midget races in other divisions.  The native of Fenton , Mo. , also owns I-55 Raceway in Pevely , Mo.

Fans can now visit any of 91 selected Pro-Cuts locations in north Texas for a pair of free tickets to one evening of racing for the March 4-5 Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.  The free tickets are available to anyone purchasing $15 in haircuts and/or hair care products at the participating Pro-Cuts locations.  The free tickets are currently available.  The list of participating salons is available at www.texasmotorspeedway.com.

The O’Reilly SUPR late models will stage complete racing programs each evening with Friday’s winner collecting $2,000 and Saturday’s victor earning $3,000.  Modified preliminary events will be staged Friday with features being staged Saturday.  Saturday’s modified victor will leave $2,500 richer.
