Jason Ingalls triples up on the 3rd!

Mesquite, Texas (July 3, 2005) – Jason Ingalls earned the B&K Underground Top Qualifier award and started on the pole and held off a strong group of contenders to claim his third O’Reilly SUPR Late Model feature of the season.  Ingalls had his hands full early fighting off the challenge from Ronny Adams and local favorite Tom Lorenz in the early stages and then David Ashley and the hard charging Ronnie Long in the final stages.

Jason teamed with his father in the Nash Trucking racing team at the beginning of the year and in the process he took possession of the PTS spec motor that powered Doug to four wins last year and Jason has picked up where Doug left off winning for the third time at three different tracks.

Ingalls started alongside Ronny Adams and the pair led the first 28 laps caution free.  That’s when the race took a drastic turn south for Adams and he tangled with a lapped car and got turned around on the front stretch collecting third running Tom Lorenz and fifth running Kenny Merchant.  This allowed Ashley to move up to second with Ronnie Long moving to third and that’s how they finished despite the fact that Jason felt his car fading at the end and Ashley was able to draw close but was unable to make a move.

Ronnie Long had an eventful night, starting off buy winning the first heat race but he failed to cross the scales after the race and was placed in the last chance race, a race he won from the eight and final starting spot.  He then started 17th in the feature and stormed to third in the feature.  Still his run didn’t earn the Creel Brothers Hard Charger award, that distinction went to Robbie Stuart who started 22nd in the feature and worked his way all the way up to sixth at the checkers – passing 16 cars in the feature.

32 O’Reilly SUPR Late Models were on hand.  Jason Ingalls, Ronny Adams, Tom Lorenz and Allen Tippen claimed the heat wins with Ronnie Long and Skip O’Neal taking the last chance wins.
