Hurricane Katrina
causes 3 Sprint car cancellations - Late Models still a go! Baton
Rouge, Louisiana - via Mantua, Ohio (September 1, 2005) - The O'Reilly
SUPR Sprint Car Series events scheduled for Labor Day weekend and next
weekend September 10th have been rescheduled or cancelled due to Hurricane
Katrina. The O'Reilly SUPR Sprint Car event scheduled for Friday
night, September 2nd has been rescheduled for Friday night, September
23rd. The O'Reilly SUPR Sprint Car event scheduled for Monday,
September 5th at Simpson County Motorsports Park has been cancelled.
Finally, the O'Reilly SUPR Sprint Car event scheduled for Saturday night,
September 10th at Deep South Speedway has been rescheduled for Saturday
night, September 24th. The
O'Reilly SUPR Late Model races scheduled for this weekend are still a go.
The action begins Saturday night, September 3rd at Champion Park Speedway
in Haughton, Louisiana where the O'Reilly SUPR Late Models will compete
along with a full local racing program including Open Wheel Modifieds,
SIMS Limited Modifieds, Southern Stocks, Hot Stocks, Trucks and Cruisers.
This will be the final night of points racing at Champion Park for the
2005 season so the action will be intense throughout the night. Gates will
open at 4:00 p.m. and racing begins at 7:00 p.m. Sunday
night will see the O'Reilly SUPR Late Models back in action this time at
Thunder Valley Speedway. Thunder Valley will see the O'Reilly SUPR
Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks
and Mini Stocks competing. The gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and
racing will get underway at 7:00 p.m. Please
