Kenny Merchant continues to dominate O'Reilly SUPR Late Model competition at I-30 Speedway!

Little Rock, Arkansas (September 17, 2005) – Kenny Merchant put in another impressive run at I-30 Speedway to take his fifth O’Reilly SUPR win of the season and his second win of the season at I-30.  Merchant has become the dominant racer at I-30 Speedway winning six of the last nine O’Reilly SUPR races at the central Arkansas speed plant.  Merchant’s performance tonight was textbook Merchant as he started eight in the J.D. Caver/J&J Motorsports/Cliburn Tank Lines Keith Craft-powered Ford Taurus MasterSbilt.

Merchant was quick to work his way to the front but not before outside front row starter Lee Davis grabbed the early lead.  B&K Underground Top Qualifier Rob Litton would work by Davis to grab the lead but the only thing that slowed Merchant down as he stormed to the front on the high side of I-30 was a lap four caution that waved when Ronny Adams stalled on the track.  Litton maintained the lead until Merchant stormed by around lap 10 and he never looked back.  The only question that remained as the remainder of the race stayed green was how many cars would Merchant lap.  As Merchant approached the checkered flag he was on the rear deck of the fifth place car of  Ray Moore who was just behind fourth place finisher Lee Davis.

Rob Litton winner of the 4th Annual Longhorn Rumble last week at Houston Raceway Park started the night off strong with a victory in heat one to earn the pole in the feature.  Litton was joined by Lee Davis and Jeff Floyd in taking the heat race victories.  But while Litton was only able to hold on to the lead in the early stages of the 40-lap feature, he was able to stay ahead of local favorite Jeff Floyd to finish a second.  Floyd gave Litton a battle for second before settling for third, a safe distance ahead of Davis and Ray Moore.  Bubba Mullins, Robbie Stuart, David Ashley, Creel Brothers Hard Charger Jason Ingalls who started 19th and Jody Prince rounded out the top ten.

22 O’Reilly SUPR Late Models were on hand.
