O'Reilly SUPR Late Models add Regional titles to 2006 slate!

Baton Rouge, Louisiana (February 6, 2006) - The O’Reilly SUPR Late Model Series is prod to announce that it will be launching three regional titles in 2006 as part of its series championship. The O’Reilly SUPR Late Models has split its racing schedule into three regions, allowing more drivers the opportunity to compete for a title while cutting down on the amount of miles traveled in competing for the crown. SUPR will retain an overall series championship for the top point getter and that champion is faced with a daunting task of competing in 40 races in a six state region to win the title.

But for drivers without the financial resources or the time necessary to compete on such a tough schedule, the tour has been split into to three regions with each region having 12 races on the SUPR calendar designated as a regional race.

To accomplish its plans; SUPR has divided its territory into three regions, the Gulf South Region, the ArkLaTex Region and the East Texas Region. Each regional title will feature a $10,000 fund with the champion claiming $2,500. A competitor must run in 10 of 12 races to be eligible for the regional point fund but for the first time a racer can stay close to home and still be eligible to compete for a title with SUPR.

The 2006 O’Reilly SUPR Late Model champion will have to be competitive in each of the regions if he or she has any hope of claiming the overall title and will collect a fair share of each region’s point fund. In addition, SUPR will also pay out an overall fund of $10,000 with the series champion adding $2,500 to his regional winnings.

2/24 – Baton Rouge Raceway - $2,500 to win

2/25 – Pike County Speedway - $2,500 to win

4/22 – Deep South Speedway - $2,500 to win

4/29 - Pike County Speedway - $2,500 to win

6/10 – Pike County Speedway - $2,500 to win

6/30 - Baton Rouge Raceway - $2,500 to win

7/8 - Deep South Speedway - $2,500 to win

8/5 – Columbus Motor Speedway - $5,000 to win (SAS vs. SUPR)

8/26 - Pike County Speedway - $2,500 to win

9/4 – Simpson County Motor Speedway - $3,000 to win (MSCCS vs. SUPR)

10/21 - Deep South Speedway - $5,000 to win

11/11 - Baton Rouge Raceway - $2,500 to win

East Texas Region schedule:

3/3 – Texas Motor Speedway - $2,000 to win

3/4 - Texas Motor Speedway - $3,000 to win

4/1 – Thunder Valley Speedway - $2,500 to win

5/6 – Houston Raceway Park - $2,500 to win
