Garrett Durrett claims opening night at the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship!
Fort Worth, Texas (March 3, 2006) – Garrett Durrett powered his way to the opening night victory at the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship, surviving a mid-race battle with Patrik Daniel to take the 25-lap feature victory.
Durrett drove the Davison Transport/Garrett Racing/Stuckey Enterprises Pro Power MasterSbilt to the victory at the Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway.
Daniels held on for second ahead of David Ashley, Rob Litton and Charles Randolph. Durrett started on the pole after earning the B&K Underground Top Qualifier award after moving from ninth to second in heat three. Durrett would lead 23 of 25 laps in the feature but Daniel who started third and would hound Durrett throughout the feature grabbed the lead at the halfway mark. Daniel’s lead was short as to lap later Durrett reasserted his hold on the feature and he powered away to the victory.
48 O’Reilly SUPR Late Models were on hand. Charles Randolph, Rob Litton, Ricky Ingalls, Patrik Daniel, and Mike Brown won the heat races with Kenny Merchant and Kyle Berck topping the last chance races.
