Battle on the Bayou set for this weekend!

Baton Rouge, Louisiana (March 14, 2006) - The World of Outlaws Late Model Series travels to Louisiana this weekend to battle with the O'Reilly SUPR Late Model Series.  The Battle on the Bayou will held on Friday night, March 17th at Baton Rouge Raceway and on Saturday night, March 18th at Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, Louisiana.

 

This will be the WOO's first visit to the Bayou State and they will be bring 12 of the strongest runners in the land.  The Dirty Dozen consists of defending Outlaw Champion Billy Moyer, Steve Francis, Tim McCreadie, Rick Eckert, Chub Frank, Dale McDowell, Darrell Lanigan, Josh Richards, Clint Smith, Shane Clanton, John Blankenship and Eric Jacobsen.

 

Expected to be on hand defending the home turf will be the 2005 and 1999 O'Reilly SUPR Champion David Ashley, 2004 O'Reilly SUPR Champ and recent Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship winner Rob Litton, Kenny Merchant, Jason Ingalls, Ray Moore, Robbie Stuart and winner of two of three SUPR races this season Garrett Durrett.  Durrett from Simsboro, Louisiana is also leading the World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year standings, a title he has announced his intentions of pursuing in 2006.  He will compete with Jacobsen and Eddie Carrier, Jr. for the rookie title.

 

Friday night, the Baton Rouge Raceway pit gates will open at 3:00 p.m. and general admission will open at 4:00 p.m.  the driver's meeting at 6:30 p.m., hot laps at 6:45 p.m., time trials will start at 7:15 p.m. with heat race action starting at 8:00 p.m.  The Coca-Cola UMP Modifieds will join the Late Models competing in a 20 lap feature that pays $500 to win and $50 to start.  Baton Rouge Raceway will host an open practice session on Thursday, March 16th from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.  Pit admission is $15 and general admission is $5.

 

Saturday night, the Fast Trax Speedway pit gates will open at 3:00 p.m. and general admission will open at 4:00 p.m.  the driver's meeting at 5:30 p.m., hot laps at 5:45 p.m., time trials will start at 6:15 p.m. with heat race action starting at 7:00 p.m. 

 

General admission is $25 each night, children 7-12 is $10.00, children 6 and under are free.  Pit admission is $30 for non-members and $25 for WOO members.
