Chris Wall tops teammate for win at Batesville opener!

Batesville, Arkansas (April 14, 2006) – Chris Wall parlayed a first time visit into his first O’Reilly SUPR Late Model victory of the season.  The win was all the more special for Wall as he started on the pole after earning the B&K Underground Top Qualifier award, started alongside his teammate Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth and held him off over the 25-laps of the feature to take the win.

Chris was excited by the night’s results.  “It’s an honor to roll out here the first time ever at Batesville, you know there’s so much history behind it, and to be able to win made it a lot sweeter to start alongside my teammate and to run one-two made it a pretty memorable night.”

The race was slowed by just two cautions, the first caution waved on lap two when Heath Oestricher, Justin Ingalls, and Keith Craft tangled off turn two.  This allowed Hollingsworth to close in on Wall and they raced side-by-side for the lead for several laps before Wall was able to assert his control over the race.

The second caution waved on lap 16 when Dewaine Hottinger spun in turn two.  He retired a lap later.  This final caution did little to slow Wall down as he was able to pull clear of Ronnie Lee to take the win.

Patrik Daniel was the strongest spec motor as he started fourth and worked by Lee Davis on the start to grab third but he was unable to close ground on the lead duo and settled for third ahead of fellow spec motor competitors Rob Litton and Lee Davis.  Litton took over the O’Reilly SUPR National points lead with the 4th place finish while Davis took over the ArkLaTex Regional points lead with his 5th place finish.

Jeff Chanler who dropped his driveshaft in the heat race and thrashed right up until the feature to get his car back together, used his provisional to start 21st and he worked his way up to 13th at the finish to earned the Creel Brothers Hard Charger award.

31 O’Reilly SUPR Late Models were on hand.  Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth, Patrik Daniel, Rob Litton and Doug Ingalls won the heat races with Jon Mitchell and Brock Williams taking the last chance wins.
