O'Reilly SUPR Late Models return to Batesville!
LOCUST GROVE AR. (April 5, 2007) - One of the most popular
classes to ever race at the Batesville
Motor Speedway, the Late Models, will
make their first appearance this
weekend. Held in conjunction with the
3rd Annual Mark Martin Fan Appreciation
Days at Mark Martin Ford in Batesville,
the O’Reilly Auto Parts Southern United
Professional Racing Series, or SUPR,
will be at the Batesville Motor Speedway
on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7.
During the days, there will be
activities at Mark Martin Ford in
Batesville, including appearances by
Mark Martin, Tony Stewart (Friday) and
Kenny Wallace (Saturday), then in the
evenings, the action will be at the
Batesville Motor Speedway. The Louisiana
based O’Reilly SUPR series look to bring
a strong contingent north to the
Batesville Motor Speedway, and be
challenged by some of the top drivers in
Arkansas.
Each night will be a full night of
racing for the Late Models. Heat events,
Last Chance Qualifiers, and the A Main
event will be held both nights. Friday’s
racing will be highlighted by a 25 Lap
Feature paying $1,250 to win. On
Saturday, the feature will be 50 Laps,
and pay $2,500 to win. All five of the
Batesville Motor Speedway’s weekly
classes will be in action both nights as
well. The Modifieds, Street Stocks,
Hobby Stocks, E-Mods, and Front Wheel
Drive classes will be competing.
Ray Moore of Shreveport, Louisiana is
the early season points leader in the
SUPR series. Allen Tippen of Minden,
Louisiana, Jon Mitchell of Nash, Texas,
Ryan Plaisance of Westwego, Louisiana,
Jason Ingalls of Longview, Texas, David
Ashley of Zachary, Louisiana, Lee Davis
of Greenwood, Louisiana, John Anderson,
of Omaha, Nebraska, Howard Willis of
Pasadena, Texas, and Kyle Cummings of
Minden, Louisiana are the early season
top ten in points for the O’Reilly SUPR
series and are expected to be on hand.
Ticket prices for Friday’s racing will
be $12.00 for adults, and tickets will
be $15.00 on Saturday. Children 6-11
will be admitted for $3.00 both nights,
and children 5 and under will be free
both evenings. Pit passes will be $25.00
on Friday, and $30.00 on Saturday.
