Mike Ladner reigns on the Coast, takes O'Reilly SUPR Mod win at SMS!

Pass Christian, Mississippi (April 7, 2007) – The O’Reilly SUPR Modifieds visited South Mississippi Speedway for the first time and a local racer led the way as Mike Ladner drove the D1 UMP Modified to the victory, his first O’Reilly SUPR Modified victory.  Ladner led from the start but he would not go unchallenged as Rusty Cooper, a long-time competitor of Ladner’s and the number 2 car in O’Reilly SUPR Modified points entering the event tried to make a pass for the lead on lap 16 but made contact with Ladner, sending Ladner spinning.  Cooper was black flagged for spinning Ladner and Ladner retook the lead position on the call.  Ladner would then hold off another local competitor in the form of Bubba Trotter but Ladner was up to the challenge taking the win.  Trotter would finish second ahead of Brian Rouse with Tommy Cannon and Danny Hebert rounding out the top five.  Hebert’s fifth place finish helped extend his lead in the championship battle to 16 points over Cannon.  Cooper clipped to third and Charles Sibley moved up to fourth in the standings.

Bubba Trotter starting off the racing action by winning the first heat race finishing in front of feature winner Mike Ladner.  George Gilbert would claim heat number two while Brian Rouse won heat three.
