O'Reilly SUPR Late Models Tackle Deep South Speedway!

 

LOXLEY, Ala. -- This weekend the O’Reilly S.U.P.R. (Southern United Professional Racers) Late Models will go 50 times around the red clay 4/10-mile “Super High-Banked” Deep South Speedway. S.U.P.R. is based in Louisiana and attracts racers from across the nation to their events. This weekend’s race expects to see super late models from throughout the south including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, & possibly Texas, Florida, and other states.

As one of the nation’s oldest super late model racing organizations, S.U.P.R. got started in 1991. It began back then by going to just five different tracks. Now, 18 years later, this organization shows why it is still going strong. This weekend, Deep South Speedway will be the 8th different track and 12th event of 38 on the tour.

This weekend will also be the first time super late models of any sort will be on the newly configured speedway. The track this season has a 20 degree banked back straightaway that fits nicely between the 23 degree banked turns. Turn 3 has also been widened to allow a bit more speed getting through that end of the speedway.

Deep South Speedway will pay $2,500 to the winner of this 50 lap S.U.P.R. Late Model race. Also racing this Saturday night will be all 6 weekly classes (IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, Deep South Stingers, Deep South Super Stocks, and StormPay.com Crate Late Models).

Pit Gates open at 3:00 pm. Grandstands open at 5:00 pm. Registration cuts off and track packing begins at 5:30 pm. Hot laps start at 6:00 pm. The racing gets underway at 7:00 pm! General admission is $15 for adults, kids ages 6-12 are $5, and ages 5 & under are free.

Deep South Speedway is located north of Loxley, Alabama, near Stapleton. From I-10 take exit #44 onto highway 59. Go north of the interstate 4 miles and the speedway is on the left. If you’re coming from I-65… take exit #37 in Bay Minette. Go south 19 miles, and the speedway is on the right.
