Ray Moore scores first O'Reilly SUPR victory of the season at Motorama!
Beaumont, TX (June 8, 2007) – Ray Moore was overdue for a victory and he succeeded in grabbing that win as the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models returned to Motorama Speedway in Beaumont, Texas. Ray Moore has led the O’Reilly SUPR Late Model National Championship standings from early in the season and he has built a strong lead in the process but until tonight he hadn’t visited victory lane. Moore scored the elusive victory jumping to the lead after Lee Davis tangled with a lapped car on lap nine and collected his closest pursuer David Breazeale in the process. Once out front Moore would put distance on the rest of the field to take the win in the Moore Wireline/Tools International Corporation/Bayou Swabbing/J&J Motorsports Chvrolet Monte Carlo MasterSbilt powered by Jay Dickens.
Moore would stretch his lead in the 2007 O’Reilly SUPR Late Model National Championship standings to 279 points as the season nears the midway mark. Sam Patrick finished an impressive second place followed by former SUPR Champions Rob Litton and David Ashley. Allen Tippen, Moore ’s closest competitor in the 2007 Championship battle finished fifth.
20 O’Reilly SUPR Late Models were on hand. Three heat races were run and Kyle Cummings, David Breazeale and Sam Patrick took the victories to set the field for the 40-lap feature.
