Jason
Ingalls
beats the
heat and the
competition
at Champion
Park!
Haughton,
Louisiana
(August 18,
2007) –
Jason
Ingalls
didn’t let
the high
heat slow
him down as
he used his
outside
starting
position to
grab the
lead at the
start and he
never looked
back running
the
preferred
bottom
groove to
hold the
field at by
for all
50-laps at
Champion
Park
Speedway.
The win was
the first of
the season
and the
fifth of his
career in
O’Reilly
SUPR Late
Model
competition.
The win also
allowed
Jason to
break a tie
with his
brother
Doug, Jr. on
the all time
win list.
Ingalls
started to
the outside
of Allen
Tippen and
grabbed the
lead from
the start
while Tippen
was left to
battle with
Kyle
Cummings and
David
Ashley.
Cummings
would
eventually
work his way
passed
Tippen for
second while
Ashley would
go to the
rear
following
contact with
Cummings.
When the
checkers
waved it was
Jason
Ingalls,
Cummings,
Tippen, Jody
Prince and
Patrik
Daniel
rounding out
the top
five.
And while
the track
was
uncharacteristically
one-grooved,
one driver
not willing
to get in
line was
Kenny
Merchant.
Merchant
kept chasing
the outside
groove
throughout
the race.
Overcoming a
spin,
Merchant
stuck to his
guns but the
end result
didn’t pay
off tonight
at Merchant
finished
thirteenth
but
deserving of
credit
nonetheless.
Allen Tippen
earned the
pole
position
after
winning heat
race number
two. Jason
Ingalls won
heat one and
David Ashley
did the same
in heat
three. 21
O’Reilly
SUPR Late
Models were
on hand.
