 Ray Moore and Danny Hebert crowned O'Reilly SUPR Champions!

 

    

 

Baton Rouge, LA (November 17, 2007) – The O’Reilly Southern United Professional Racing Late Model and Modified Series hosted their Annual Banquet and crowned their 2007 Champions, Ray Moore in the Late Model division and Danny Hebert in the Modifieds.  In addition regional champions were crowned in the Late Model division with Ray Moore claiming the East Texas Region, Kenny Merchant in the Triple A Diesel ArkLaTex Region and James Ward in the MasterVac Gulf South Region.  2007 also marked a high point for the O’Reilly SUPR Late Models handed out over $44,000 in total championship payoffs with Champion Ray Moore taking home $12,000.

 

Ray Moore thanked all his sponsors Moore Wireline, Tools International, Bayou Swabbing and J&J Motorsports for all their support this year.  He also credited the help of Ronnie Stuckey and Jody Prince for helping him along the path to the championship.  He also thanked fellow competitors David Ashley and Kenny Merchant for their knowledge and support and engine builder Jay Dickens for producing strong reliable power.  Finally he thanked his family and his wife for their support admitting that racing has become an addiction for the Shreveport, Louisiana competitor.  Moore recorded 2 victories while recording 22 top ten finishes in 31 events.

 

Danny Hebert, the very first O’Reilly SUPR Modified Champion thanked his family, his wife Krista and his kids Madison, Ty and Talon for their love and support.  He was also thankful for the support if his sponsors Express Trucking, Specialty Automotive and Express Race Cars.  The Duson, Louisiana competitor was incredibly consistent winning two races and finishing in the top ten of all 19 events and 15 top five finishes en route to the Championship.  Hebert received $2,500 for the Championship and a set of Brodix Heads from Tony Barker Racing Engines.

 

Howard Willis scored a set of Brodix spec heads for the Hard Luck award and Kyle Cummings was named the Wall 2 Wall Performance Engines Rookie of the Year.

 

Finally, the O’Reilly SUPR family raised over $800 for the Joshua Howard Recovery Fund.  Howard was injured at I-30 Speedway during the Short Track Nationals.
